21st Century Department presents at the VDOE 2022 21st Century Community Learning Centers Spring Professional Institute

 

Representatives of the Hampton City Schools 21st Century Department presented at the Virginia Department of Education 2022 21st Century Community Learning Centers Spring Professional Institute on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. This year’s theme, The Power of Student Voice, included breakout sessions on the HCS 21st Century Shark Tank. The workshop was presented by 21st century department coordinator Dr. Daryle Rodgers, Machen Elementary School special education teacher Jennifer Eure, Machen kindergarten teacher Lindsey Harris, and Machen student Jaminah Victorine.

 

Rodgers shared, “The session explored how one school created, invented, and helped its students to think outside the box. It also explored how the students chose and perfected their ideas and inventions using everyday items while improving reading, writing, and mathematics.”
