Bella Mears, fifth grader at Asbury Elementary School, gives opening at the March 9 School Board meeting

 

Bella Mears, a fifth grader from Asbury Elementary School, was selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and give the opening at the March 10, 2022, School Board meeting. She read a poem entitled No One Steal Your Dreams by Paul Cookson.

 

Bella said her favorite subject is math because, “it is easy”. She also likes to play softball.

 

Bella’s mother, aunt, grandmother, and siblings joined her at the meeting, as well as her principal Marye Werling, assistant principal Michael Kelly, and music teacher Martha Grondin.
