Avery Pingitore a rising sixth grader at Jones Magnet Middle School, gives opening at the August 2 School Board meeting

 

Avery Pingitore, a rising sixth grader at Jones Magnet Middle School, was selected to give the opening at the August 2, 2023, School Board meeting. She read a poem Don’t Give Up by Phoebe Cary.

Avery’s favorite subject is math, she enjoys softball, drawing, and is a huge Harry Potter fan.

Avery’s parents, siblings, and grandparents, as well as Karen Johnson, former principal at Barron Elementary School, Laura Wyatt, current Barron principal, and three teachers from Barron, joined her at the meeting.
