HCS art teachers design, create, and collaborate during professional development activity

During the middle school pre-service on August 22, teachers engaged in a hands-on activity that merged artistry with innovation and collaboration. Guided on Zoom by Ms. Lee Kim, a designer from New York City, the educators transformed ordinary pipe cleaners into extraordinary wearable hats that defied gravity. In teams of two the teachers collaborated and crafted a unique headpiece illustrating a childhood memory of their teammate.

“This activity not only showcased our educator's artistic talents but also highlighted the importance of infusing imaginative approaches into teaching,” shared visual and performing arts teacher specialist Ai Choo Ashe. “This dynamic activity fosters connection and communication through collaboration that can promote an engaging classroom experience for our middle school students.”
