Excitement is in the air as seniors prepare to graduate June 15, 16 & 17 at the Hampton Coliseum

As the 2022-2023 school year is drawing to a close, Hampton City Schools is preparing for graduation at the Hampton Coliseum. The Division projects that approximately 1,465 students will receive their high school diplomas June 15 through 17, 2023.


Approximately 292 students from Phoebus High School will graduate on Thursday, June 15, at 7:00 p.m. The school’s co-valedictorians are Ayat Boumahdai and Arianna Rose. Phillip Mason is the salutatorian.


Students from Kecoughtan High School will graduate on Friday, June 16, at 7:00 p.m. There will be approximately 383 graduates to walk across the stage. The valedictorian is Hannah Bunting and the salutatorian is Ilyas Choukri.


Bethel High School will award diplomas to approximately 457 students on Saturday, June 17, at 9:00 a.m. Andrew Pexton is the school’s valedictorian and Madison Veneris is the salutatorian.


Hampton High School, with approximately 333 graduates, will hold its graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. Ethan Alfonso is the school’s valedictorian and Muhammed Al Saffar is the salutatorian.


As of May 30, 2023, students in the class of 2023 have been offered more than $46,450,972 million in grants and scholarships.


The ceremonies will be held at the Hampton Coliseum, 1000 Coliseum Drive, Hampton. All guests (including children) will be required to have a ticket for entry. Please note that there is a dress code for attendees. No shorts or denim/jean attire of any color will be permitted.


All graduates and guests are required to self-administer a Health Assessment Questionnaire BEFORE arriving at the Hampton Coliseum. Any graduate or guest who does not feel well should remain at home.


Parking will be at a premium, so guests are encouraged to arrive early or carpool with family and friends.


Each of the ceremonies will be televised on the HCS PEG stations, Cox Channel 46 and Verizon FIOS Channel 20. The graduations will be rebroadcast beginning on Thursday, June 22. DVDs and flash drives are available for purchase.
