Kilgore Gifted Center boys and girls volleyball teams win middle school championship

Congratulations to both the boys and girls volleyball teams at Kilgore Gifted Center. Both teams clinched the volleyball championship among the Hampton middle schools.

The boys defeated Phenix PreK-8 School two games to zero – 25-23 for both games. The girls defeated Andrews PreK-8 School two games to zero – 25-23 and 25-21. Josh Veator serves as the boys coach and Paula Larson and Amy Gonzalez are the coaches of the girls team.

Kilgore principal Paul Lawrence said, “This has been a team effort all season. Our coaches, players, and their parents have committed their time and energy to the work. We are very proud of them.”

The middle school athletics program gives students who are eligible to participate in high school sports an opportunity to be a part of an athletics team.
