School Board member Joe Kilgore is appointed to VSBA Board of Directors

It was officially announced at the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Annual Convention, which took place November 15-17, 2023, in Williamsburg, VA., that the VSBA president Dr. Cardell Patillo appointed Joseph Kilgore of the Hampton City School Board as chair of the association’s standing finance/audit committee. This appointment makes Kilgore one of the 16 members of the VSBA board of directors. In this role, Kilgore will chair the committee which thoroughly reviews the audit of the VSBA finances conducted by an accounting firm.  

Having served as a committee member on both the VSBA legislative positions and audit/finance committees in the past, Kilgore stated he is honored to serve as the chair of the finance/audit committee for the next two years.  

Kilgore has been a member of the Hampton School Board since 2010 and served as chair during the 2020-2021 school year.
