Mya-Sylvia Bailey, a fifth grader at Smith Elementary School, gives opening at the November 1 School Board meeting

 

Mya-Sylvia Bailey, a fifth grader at Smith Elementary School, was selected to give the opening at the November 1, 2023, School Board meeting. She shared her school’s daily pledge with the School Board and the audience.

Mya-Sylvia’s likes to read and her hobbies are cheerleading and braiding hair. She cheers with Genesis Cheer Extreme and wants to be a teacher and a cheer coach when she grows up.

Mya-Sylvia’s mother, Smith principal Michael Blount, and her teacher, Christina Groce joined her at the meeting.
