The Hampton Roads Workforce Council Honors Hampton City Schools as a Workforce Innovator in the Region

Hampton City Schools (HCS), in conjunction with the city of Hampton economic development office, was awarded a workforce innovator award at the annual Workforce Innovation Awards on September 21, 2023, in Portsmouth. The ceremony celebrated industry, nonprofit, and education stakeholders for their contributions to the regional workforce.

HCS received the award for its work through the Academies of Hampton and the city of Hampton Economic Development.

 

The evening featured remarks from John Olson, board chair, Hampton Roads Workforce Council; Mark Johnson, vice chair, Hampton Roads Workforce Council; Delceno Miles, board chair, Hampton Roads Workforce Foundation; Roy Corby, general manager, Rivers Casino Portsmouth; and virtual remarks from Senator Tim Kaine.
