Excitement is in the air as seniors prepare to graduate June 17, 18 & 19 at the Hampton Coliseum

As the 2020-2021 school year is drawing to a close, Hampton City Schools is preparing for graduation at the Hampton Coliseum. The Division projects that approximately 1,429 students will receive their high school diplomas June 17 through 19, 2021.

Bethel High School will award diplomas to approximately 402 students on Thursday, June 17, at 7:00 p.m. Jaelyn Matthews is the school’s valedictorian and Zariyah Russell is the salutatorian.

Hampton High School, with approximately 367 graduates, will hold its graduation ceremony on Friday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m. Katelyn Leone is the school’s valedictorian and Abigail Ronsonet is the salutatorian.

Approximately 269 students from Phoebus High School will graduate on Saturday, June 19, at 9:00 a.m. The school’s valedictorian is Moises Luna Tubbs and Khamnulin Douangdara is the salutatorian.

Students from Kecoughtan High School will graduate on Saturday, June 19, at 1:30 p.m. There will be approximately 391 graduates to walk across the stage. The school has co-valedictorians Camille Jones and Ashlin Schultz and the salutatorian is Paige Jordan.

As of June 8, 2021, students in the class of 2021 have been offered more than $41,968,986 million in grants and scholarships.

The ceremonies will be held at the Hampton Coliseum, 1000 Coliseum Drive, Hampton. All guests (including children) will be required to have a ticket for entry. Please note that there is a dress code for attendees. No shorts or denim/jean attire of any color will be permitted.

In accordance with HCS mitigation strategies, all graduates and guests are requested to wear a face covering at all times. Graduates and guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to wear a face covering at all times, unless medically unable to do so.

All graduates and guests are required to self-administer a Health Assessment Questionnaire BEFORE arriving at the Hampton Coliseum. Any graduate or guest who does not feel well should remain at home.

Parking will be at a premium, so guests are encouraged to arrive early or carpool with family and friends.

Each of the ceremonies will be televised on the HCS PEG stations, Cox Channel 46 and Verizon FIOS Channel 20. The graduations will be rebroadcast beginning on Wednesday, June 23. DVDs and flash drives are available for purchase.
